sincerely, the 90 mm is a greath classic miniature, this 54 is similar to a toy soldier with this paintwork.excuse me for my critics, but you can post the green for to see the sculpt work?

An old friend yet again because the manufacturer can't find anything new to do??.......This looks like a Chasseur on a childs rocking horse, the sculpting of the Horse Mane is atrocious.
I had to laugh at the front views of the horse, poor thing looks as though he is wearing a wig...LOL

PS No criticism of the painting by the way.

One of the most heroic paintings of all times. Finally someone does it in 54mm.A few thoughts on the above remarks.54mm is the figure modelling scale par excellence.A good modeller can produce fine results and many fine modellers have produced award winning pieces of hussars in 54mm.And they did not look as toy soldiers at all.The mane unfortunately looks a bit unrealistic.I think that the sculptor had Ray Lamb's masterpiece in mind (which indeed even after all these years does not look like a toy soldier either) where the mane and tail where done in creppe hair.It feels as if he has tried to reproduce that effect in sculpting(not very successfully though).I too would like to see the unpainted kit for a final opinion though. All in all it is very encouraging that manufacturers are picking up their 54mm ranges after all this time even if they do it sparingly.

I think it's a very nice piece, yes there are areas that could be improved but I really don't think it's a bad sculpt or the painting is that bad.
Maybe some caution was made in the mane sculpting due to casting worries but really, I do not think this is a bad piece, in fact I would happily add one to my stash and as far as I know it's the only marketed figure in this scale of this piece.

This could be made a gem and the horse and posing as based is good.
Build the colpack, tilt the horses head slightly and re mane.
To me it's a 7/8 out of 10 and welcomed

The quality of box art at the moment is so high that this finished piece does not look as if it is at the same level to some viewers.
Are'nt you being unfair folks?
Andrea is a premier company who produce good figures.
In the hands of a few guys on here I am willing to bet it will be a stunner.

I've got the old Masterclass 54 sitting in the cabinet. It was OK, but not of the best quality in sculpt and fit of parts....had to do a fair bit of filling ,as I recall. A copy of the painting resides comfortably on our landing wall.....didn't have the space to put the full-size one up!

If I'm honest, I'm not keen on this latest offering; looks a bit rushed.

As we know, understandably this subject has been done a few times. I'll reserve full judgement until I see it in the flesh. Certain aspects of it though, look quite l fashioned. It's not up to today's standards, sorry.

I do agree with FrankH - if Metals Models did one.... it'd be a world beater, I'm sure.

Metal Modeles is working on an huge project that will take the next years... no hope about this subject

I have never thought this figure worked that well in three dimension , there is so much going on in the background in the painting that the figure can't compete with. the background is just so atmespheric
Of all the versions I like the Andrea 90mm the best

It certainly has divide opinion and I think Peedee's comment is right - in this forum someone will make it into somethignexcellent. I wish Metal Modeles or Pegaso would try it too.

Cheers
