Hi Keith

Thank you appreciate that you like my efforts and have posted

It does look better in scale!

Nap

Yes I always find that here. when the members look at it and super impose it to all but life size and say that you missed a stitch on the tunic (slight exaggeration but you know what I mean Kev)
My pieces are best view from 100 meters.

Kev,
Loving your work here buddy.
I have the 75mm version full figure, and am enjoying your struggles to make life easier for the rest of us.
it is amazing that RP have the same textures and even the scimshaw present in the smaller kit.

Well done mate.

Paul.

Hi Paul

Cheers for popping by and thanks for the comments , the scrimshaw is on the full figures as you say but me being me I jst kept the end piece and made another main centre action then engraved the same type scrimshaw as in the pics here ...looking forward to hopefully bringing it to life!

Looking forward to seeing your version of the figure

Not at all Mate, you are really in the groove with this boy.
Green is always interesting with many different shades to play with. Your olive (?) green choice is bang on for the Rangers.
Lt Cairns sounds good just wondering what you have up your sleeve for him.
Press on Kev you are doing a great job.

Hi Guys

Update .......well it was inevitable I suppose , totally completed the powder horn , rather nicely , straps all in place ......

Test fitted it again and the one at the back was out by about 4 mm ..so didn't match up ...bugger!!

Pinned and glued the front strap into place no problem then ...gently ..tried to hold the other in place and yes it snapped in several places ...double bugger !

Sounds of sobbing .......only thing to do was to sculpt a new back strap on tge figure ...I did and I am well happy ...just need to repaint ! ...also added a strap on the top stopper piece etc.

Sorry didn't take pictures of scrimshaw but rest assured you can see the lady ( his wife) , his name John Allison beneath this inscribed " his horn" and at the rear underside a engraving of the man , also beneath the wife is the date 1756

Really pleased ..will try and get better pics but here are a couple before painting ...

The powder horn is a lot lighter! ...and horny in colour based on the pics here in the thread

Thanks for looking in

Main thing Kev it all came good in the end.
The powder horn is brilliant. That darker colour works very well.
A bumpy ride but a stunning piece is just around the corner Mate.
Press on young man.
