A 200mm Mitches Military Models British Airborne jump ready figure.
I altered the Mk V Sten gun from around his neck and placed the end section into the drop bag and added a sling and swivel. Having owned all this WWII uniform and equipment in original form back in my collecting days I had to add small pieces to make me happy with the finished figure in so much as the quick release rope and mechanism and wartime cigarette packet and lead foil to make the risers on the top of the parachute pack hang like the original thick webbing ones do.
I tried to give the impression of a quick smoke before enplaning for the attack on Fortress Europe standing on the grassy airfield in England on the evening of 5th June 1944.
All painted in my favourite, 'Vallejo'
It was built as a tribute to all the 6th Airborne men that gave there lives for freedom in 1944
All comments very welcome good or bad
