Hi Geoff

That's really coming together ..when I click on larger image tge fleshwork looks great and with the blocking in the sculpted details really "zing"

You should be WELL HAPPY mate

Are you going for gold lace it a troopers version...quite like the idea of a trumpeter ...Mmmm

Thanks for sharing

Nap

Thanks Nap, I'm pleased with the way he is coming along, I shall be doing him as an Officer in full dress so the lacing and cords will be gold.

Cheers Geoff

Was looking at mine on the bench earlier Nap and pondering - is the sculpt an officer or trooper? The cartridge belt would suggest Officer with the studs/buttons and maybe that’s why Carl put the cords on the colpack although the references I’ve got don’t seem to show cords in any of the states of dress. On that basis I’m going down the officer route which is possibly the way Geoff is going with gold lace although I could be totally wrong and the basecoat for the lace could be for aurore coloured troopers lace. Either way it will be interesting to see the different interpretations. Looking forward to seeing which way Geoff goes.

I think you will find that the fur on the pelisse on the officer is white and a trooper is black going by my Waterloo book.
I'm doing an officer Neal

Happy painting

if you want to paint this bust as Guard chasseur and maintain some historical accuracy you have to eliminate the tressed hair and th cord on the busby as in all the documents related to the guard chasseur

I think I shall change him to be an officer in the 7th Hussars, then I don't have to prat about like that and just change the position of the plume as I am not into modifying resin, I just like the painting.

Sometimes life is just to short and you have to say he was experimenting with his kit or his normal kit was at the laundry :D. Much better than having to cut up such a beautiful sculpt.

Thanks Gary, after sleeping on it I have decided to say sod any faults and to paint him as a Chasseur a Cheval as it is marketed , as I like the colours having a green dolman a red pelisse with white fur.

Cheers
