Thanks for looking.
Saw 1917 at the pictures the other day and it put me in the mood to creating a WW1 scene.
(this is in no way a spoiler for the film.)
Its a Resicast railway wagon, Stalingrad figure and Acurate Armour stretchers bits are ICM and Tamiya.
Any advice/comments are as always welcomed.

Haven't see the movie yet, but I do like the setup of this little vignette. Woul like to see it painted, though.

I know the figure you used for this one Paul - it’s the Tank Corps Sergeant from Stalingrad’s Mark IV crew set, & it’s a great sculpt to work from. The little accessories you’ve decorated the scene with really give it a sense of atmosphere; the rail truck, stretcher & gas rattle convey time & place so well. Haven’t seen 1917 myself yet, but I’ve been impressed by the trailers & can’t wait for the DVD.
Great realisation, looking forward to seeing it under paint - it’ll be stunning!

A very poignant pose there it really does evoke the great loss suffered during WW1. Will look forward to seeing how this turns out.

Nice idea well executed.

My Granddad drove* ambulances in Egypt and 'The Holy Land' (aka Palestine) in WW1. I have his medal set, usual Pip, Squeak and Wilfred plus a nice Turkish Star (presumably bought or looted), and I've often thought of doing a 'tribute' piece to go alongside them... this may inspire me.

A quick Google finds 1/35th Model T ambulances from ICM and Revell but nothing more obviously 'British'. I don't know what was common though RRs and Rover Sunbeams are in many photos**....anybody got any ideas?

*as a driver/mechanic, a rarity in 1914, he was scooped up by the RASC and drove trucks and ambulances in both France and the Near East: nothing adventurous or heroic but he did his bit (worst injury was when he broke a toe by dropping a rifle on it: we still have his records).
