Hello everyone, this is my first completed bust of 2023. Of course I started painting it on 2022, but I completed it a few days ago.
There are tons of Landsknecht busts in the market and this is the famous version of Castle Miniatures (as I see they are still in the business, but I was not able to find this bust in their shop)
This specific "version" is indeed one of the most popular and it's been painted by lots of painters so... this is my take.
I used the mixed technique of oils over acrylic, but for the first time I used oil colors to paint the floral pattern on the fabric. Still to make practice with this, but I noticed that using oil colors for freehand is more... relaxing, meaning you are not under pressure of color drying on the brush tip (of course with acrylic I might use a retarder...).
