Here’s a piece I finished a while ago, but forgot to post.
It’s a 1:48 scale polar bear from MiniNature’s shapeways shop (a 3D print).

Water is coloured epoxy resin with acrylic paste waves.
Ice is a combination of an epoxy cast, pieces of acrylic sheet and acrylic paste with and without microballoons.

I chose the disproportionate dimensions to indicate the melting of the polar bear’s habitat.

Pictures are not so great, but there’s not too much to see anyway....

Cheers
Adrian

Thanks for showing.
What an outstanding, thought-provoking piece, telling a complex story with seemingly little effort: just one animal, a bit of ice and a large body of water... Have I mentioned that I really love this one?

Thank you all for your comments and likes!

I just found the pictures made with the ' real camera'...added them to the lot.

Hi Adrian

That's a nice piece of modelling , liking the actual colour of the bear and the ice looks good , like the fact it's below waterline with the animals weight

Agree with Karl's comments

It's good to see something different ...hopefully not your last animal

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Agree with all the comments above. A beautiful piece with an unfortunate, but true, storyline. MiniNatures Shapeways shop has a lot of great animals. It is good to see one being used in such a creative way.
