Wooden Figure stands, bases

Who offers the most reasonably priced finished wooden figure bases? Is there a retailer called S&T that sells them? With or without brass plaques? Does the retailer offer brass plaques lettered to order?

S&T is not doing as many bases as before and has been hard to get any response from them. Most base suppliers do not provide brass plaques. I have a seperate supplier for the brass plaques through a Trophie Awards business who does engraving too. I buy most of my bases through Ken Thomas as he has the best quality for the money and good turn around on my orders.

And do you have a contact for Ken Thomas, a URL or ? I can probably do the same thing through a trophy store here. Hadn't thought of it. I can buy wood bases through them also, but the few I've checked have been very expensive!

S&T is online somewhere. Also check out Epic Designs, and The Hussar Bases(?). You can contact Epic designs by email [email protected]. The Hussar Bases are available by contacting The Hussar www.thehussar.com . Thomas Art are no doubt the best quality available, but you pay a premium price.

Hello Dan hey here is Colorado minatures site he has the wood bases from S&T and there are some good prices. I have a trophy shop that does my name plates and they can do some interesting work on them as well. Here is the link to the bases. Regards Brock They start on the bottom of page 2.

Dan,

Make friends with your local wood turning class - I did and have a guy who makes my bases - I just buy the wood. They are unique and VERY professional. My father in law has now taken up wood working as a hobby so I have another source too.

Don't know about name plates in the US but "Name it" in England offer a great service.

I have been painting miniatures for 35 years and have been making bases and selling at the MFCA and Washington shows for the last 12 years. I use only the finest domestic and exotic hardwoods and make a variety of shapes and sizes. I have the largest inventory of anyone at the shows. I only do two shows but also do mail order.
