Completed Critique Old Harton Bust "Indian with child"

Out of my grey army I have finished an old harton bust from Carl Reid. I love his work and it is not the first and will be not the last which I paint. I have made some experiment with the skin and hair tones. I am not really satisfied wiht the tones but I think I will try it with the next bust to do it better.

So now the bust is standing in my cabinet

Well done Ulrich. Judging by the clothing finish I am assuming you used oils as I see a slight sheen, am I right ? I have this bust too and have to get down and finish it one day. Am a big fan of Carl and I have most of his busts in some finished or unfinished form

@ Giorgio. Same as me. I have many laying here and I think I must buy some of his new ones. And yes I use oil colors. But the shiny appears when I take the photos. Sometimes I brush my figures after painting with "Flat clear" from Gunze and after that there is no glossy anymore. Perhaps I will do it with the clothes of that bust too
