I have been wondering where you were with this guy. Firstly I think you are being too hard on your self, he looks really great so far. The cape looks fine I'm not sure what you are displeased with. The leggings are awesome as is the leather. I can't wait to see him finished.

For my opinion is a very good job, for the coat the only point i find is it is too glossy ? perhaps i would suggest you to add some shades on the mail on the lower part and under the arms and armpits for example but it is a my personal liking

cheers

stefano

Thank you guys for feedback.
The coat is glossy indeed, I'm going to paint it with a matt varnish.
Stefano - you are not the only one person, who complained about this shadows, so I will probably correct it.
Cheers.

Hello.
Looks like my work with this model is closing to an end. In a few days, a week maybe, the figure should be completed - in the moment only the shoes left to be painted.
Actually, it was painted yesterday, but I didn't like it and washed out the paint.
Today somathing like a "sneak preview" ;)- for those of You, who are still intrested in this Viking, a photo of a shield (almost completed). Suprisingly, I like the way it looks :)
Cheers

So, it's almost done.
Model is finished, still the weathering to be done, but I'm gonna weather it when I place the figure on the proper base.
This Viking has taken 4 months of my life (rather irregular painting, I must admit), but lot of things happend in the meantime - since last update I managed to damage and repair figure's face and nose protector. I also repainted sword and knife two times, shoes two times.
Belive me, I am really happy having this Viking finished. Another week or two and I'd hate it ...
I hope you'll like it. Enjoy, comments are welcome:)

The work that you have invested in this, really shows. Brilliant version, one I want to do sometime. Looking forwards to what you have planned for the base.
Carl.

Freaking awesome my man. really spectacular paint work. Anxious to see how the base comes out. Keep us posted when complete.

very freaking cool my man. The painting is so superb and the scene created with the ground work is just perfect. My take is he is busting through the door of a house where the bastard who killed his brother lives. His finished swing will deliver that bastard to a special spot in hell made just for him. His prey now dead the viking turns away but first takes a taste of blood from the axe. Now, with a smile on his face and a skip in his stride he makes his way home to his loving family.

Or maybe he was doing some remodeling. Doesn't matter your figure is simply incredible. Congrats, and please don't put that brush to him, he is perfect. :)

Thank you guys for the comments.

Grant - don't be afraid, the head isn't real;). Thanks for the very nice comment.

Mike - I like the story you presented, who knows, maybe it was just as you described ... or maybe he just returned earlier from viking and found his wife in some "situation" ;)
Many thanks for your constant support, you really helped me to finish this stubborn model :)

Carl - thanks for your comments, I hope you'll decide to compete with this figure, it's really worth painting.

In the end one curiosity, especially for beginners - a picture that shows how I started with this model.
As you can see from this photo, one should never lose the hope :)
