Pegaso Mounted Hussar 4th Reg.

Finally near completion of this mounted figure that I started last year, only the buckles to paint on the reigns, fit the stirrups and spurs, touch up a bit of paint work and finish the base work, all going well should be finished this week.

Very nice kit to assemble and paint, been hard going with the painting as it is not my usual period of interest but it’s another one of those figures that I just liked, there was something about it. Thanks to Keith Davidson for his help and referance material for this one. Painted in oils, acrylic and printers inks. Glad I am near completion, don’t think I could ever bring myself to paint another one.

Any comments most welcome.:D
Cheers

Oh my goodness. . . the discipline required to do something like that at
such a very high skill level. Congratulations on a beautiful piece of
equestrian figure modeling. Really beautiful.

Tommi, amazing painting allround, the detail work is stunning so much so that it's impossible to pick out some area that's better than another. Will we be seeing this at Euro.

Cheers Ken

Many Thanks for your comments Rick, it was a pleasure to paint like I said but hard going.

Ken, yes I will have it there, maybe hand it over to its new owner if he still wants it after the long wait.

Cheers

Great job Tommi! I just finished my own version after leaving it half done for a year and a half. I wish I had painted my horse brown like yours, as I was initially unhappy with the dapple grey that I originally went with. I feel better about it now, or maybe I just reconciled myself to the colour after so long. In any case, wish I had seen yours before starting mine.

Outstanding painting Tommi. The patience required to complete such a complex and detailed figure to such an amazing standard is mind boggling. Congratulations on completing this marathon.

Hi Tommi,
A figure with plenty of great difficulty and with several requirements in the painting, I believe that all work you have done incredibly well especially the painting of leopard skin.
Congratulations!!

Fabulous piece of work Tommi well worth the effort and a tribute, after all of those Knights and Ancients, to your skill and versatility.
I guarantee the new owner is going to be delighted!

Tommi this is the sort of inspirational work that keeps me in this hobby. I fI could get half as good as this I'd be a happy man. You should be proud of this one....

Hi Glenn

I did do the horse in the dapple grey to start with then was told that only the trupeters had grey horses, grrrr. I airbrushed over the top of it the next day only to find out that it did not really matter that much in the end.
