Just finished this "vintage" Verlinden bust of Marshal Oudinot that I've had in my grey army for 12 years or so. Once I primed it and began painting, I realized what a gem it is! The detail is crisp and very well sculpted. I will have this piece for sale in Chicago, anyone interested can PM me or just talk to me at the show. Thanks for looking.

Hi Jason!

extremly well painted, Jason.
The Legion D´honeur I guess? are very beautiful with those orange/red effects.(y)
Congratulations!

A gem indeed and outstanding painting!! It is a pity Verlinden never indicates or gives credit to the sculptors of his products.

cheers,

Piet

hello
yes those verlinden busts are often really nice.i like the nice lace as the effects on the sash wich is stunning.well the rest is to an boxart level as well-one wonders still why this products are sold which such terrible boxarts on them.they should spent some ash and let them have painted by good painters as you are one-as this is again an painters item
pretty bust
cheers

Your usual wonderful paintwork Jason, especially on the watered silk sash which is never easy to pull off.

Nice work, as usual!
I didn't notice the silk effect on the sash until my second look; really cool detail!
Golds are also very nice!

Cheers,
Adrian

Very well done Jason.

This is one of those times I have to say, once again, some of those old Verlinden busts/figures are far better than people give them credit for. Many just need a decent paint job to show off that fact! Verlinden's box art (it's my understanding he did most of them himself, decent chops, but by today's standards, a bit tired) often didn't do many/any of these little gems any justice at all. A tellented person such as yourself can come along, add a commendable paint job to one, and make many open their eyes to the possibilities these old pieces have! They remain inexpensive, EXCELLENTLY cast, easy to assemble and clean-up. Perfect for beginers, or for practice. I'd be willing to bet you'd even be proud to display them once some paint wakes a few of these forgoten pieces up!

Thank you for your comments guys! I agree with you about the box art, which definitely wasn't doing any favors for this particular bust. That's a shame, because it may have turned a lot of people off to what is actually a nice piece.
