Hello All,
This is a start on an LRDG Character called Trooper Frank Jopling. He emigrated from England to NewZealand and farmed in the Waikato and joined the territorials studying navigation .At the outbreak of the war served in Egypt and joined the LRDG from then.
His truck was destroyed in the Barce raid and on a 12 day trek returned to base navigating by the stars at night.
The basic character is shaped but there is still a beard and some munted clothing to go which will add more to this special person.comments welcome.

Andy:

Looking forward to this one. My Dad worked for the Stirlings (SAS) when he left school. In fact, he told me most of his bosses at the time were ex-officers (Guards, SAS, etc). Old boys club, I guess.

Anyway, I don't have a lot of background in the era but I was given the impression the LRDG were predominantly Kiwis. Was this so?

Markus and Paul,
Markus,The bowman bust first castings has been done and will start painting it soon.Paul,The LRDG were predominantly Kiwis but there were also Former Rhodesians and some South Africans also in the mix.

like it the cardigan looks nice.is there an idea of an headgear because the item seems to have the top of head seperated or is it only for casting??
one i would buy anytime
cheers

Greetings,
the bust is pretty much complete. The hair on the side and back below the band has been done. What interests me is the slight bulge of the hair at the back of the head just below the back of the band, this creation of tension although a small amount of putty added gives the impression of tension of the goggles around the head.
I find that keeping small and even unoticed details like this add to your bust. Its just observation really.
The real test will be to see how he paints up and to weather there is a likeness then.comments welcome.
Andy
