Hello, everyone.:)
I have begun to paint a new figure.

(Roman Legionnaire VERLINDEN BUST MODEL)

While being close, I'm planning to paint a basis.
If I can have everyone's advice and comment on the way, I'm happy.;)

I don't know what your plans are but, if you wanted to, you could paint the helmet to look like bronze. Everyone seems to think they were only made of iron but several have been found made in bronze, complete with the embossed eyebrows and all the other details. It might add some interesting contrast to the iron cuirass. Just a friendly suggestion.

Thank you very much, Pedro.

Always thank you very much for your kind comment, Pedro.:)
I think I end it early about this work.
Work is quite developed already.
Thank you for liking it.;)

Thank you very much, Alexandros.

Always thank you very much for your kind comment, Alexandros.:)
I'll also use VALLEJYO - COLOR about this work.
A part was damaged and was in the bag, so I had trouble making a little.
Thank you for liking it, my friend.;)

It also seems that a copper made one is seen, but I think there is also something of the same material as armor.
It isn't detailed about this matter, but I think silver is the basis for the color of the helmet of a figure of most Roman soldiers.
Or is it said that this type of helmet is made of copper?:)
It was very good study.
Thank you very much.(y)

finished painting a basis.

I have finished painting a basis.:)
First I applied the whole blackly.
Next I blew the metal color of KUREOS.
Silver was a sticking one and I corrected by black of enamel.
Next I blew red of clothes.
Flesh color was blown at the end.
I blew the color which has blown the Sunny skin tone first and has added the sandwich color to red leather as a shade.
Painting of completion is waiting from here.
(A mustache isn't being still painted.);)

I was only suggesting that the helmet doesn't absolutely have to be of iron. Bronze is also a possibility, if you wanted to do something a bit unusual. Several bronze ones have been found. Here are some examples:

But if you've already decided to paint it to look like iron then that's perfectly OK.

Frankly nobody knows how common these were. For all we know, entire legions could have had bronze helmets. Only a very few Roman helmets have survived out of the hundreds of thousands which must have been made.

I look forward to seeing how you progress with painting your legionary.

Hello Mitsutaka san, beautiful color you chose to paint the scarf.(y)
The "initial" fleshtones are very smooth. Great!

Following!!!

Gordy,
If you mean a bronze helmet being worn with the iron Lorica Segmentata (modern Lorica is made of mild steel) body armor, yes that would be OK. Though the Romans are thought of as being the first army to have uniform equipment, there was apparently a variety of equipment used at the same time by men in the same unit.

Thank you very much, Harry.

Thank you very much for your valuable picture and advice, Harry.:)
I was study very much.
It was surprise that a helmet of bronze exists for me.
When you tell me if there is valuable information again, I'm happy.;)
