Hi planeteers!!

This is my rendering of this 1/9 scale bust sculpted by Romain Van den Bogaert a few years ago. I liked it since first time I saw his sculpture work about it.... and I knew I would end up painting one for me. Finally, this year I obtained my copy and here is my finished version. Since already you will have supposed, both, sculpture and painting, are inspired on National Geographic's 1985 famous cover. I have only tried to catch the magic look of this Afghan girl, though only this be in a small part (sorry for my bad english ).

More Info about Sharbat´s life on My blog (in spanish).

Or also in the article A life revealed

Kisses.

PD: painted with airbrush/brush and acrylics paints.

Wow! This girl is very difficult to paint, but You did it very well, I think.

Even the outlining of the eyes are - IMHO - a bit hard, You did a phantastic paintjob. Bravo!

Cheers

Extremely well done Pepa! (y)

I have this on the bench now and if mine can be half as good as yours, I'll be very happy! :notworthy:

Cheers,
Adrian
