This is a 1/10-1/9 bust of Sgt/mjr Edwards of the Scots Fusilier Guards shortly after the Crimean war,
taken from the actual photo, the sculpt is scratch built with milliput/Magi-sculpt/Super sculpey.
The head is all done so now I'll be moving on to the torso & arms which will be "coated"over in magi-sculpt and the sculpted into shape, still a long way to go on this one.
This is a commission for Gordon Mitchell of Mitches Military Models which he'll be producing this bust as a kit for sale sometime later this Spring/Summer.
Some of you may recall that I done this exact same sculpt as a one off for Kev Peart (Nap) a while back but he's now painted that one and for good reason is hanging on to it, so hence the reason for another new sculpt of the same subject in the same pose
All comments very welcome & as normal..yes the photos are not great.;)
Cheers
Jim

Hi Jimbob,

At last you have started this , really pleased this is going commercial ...lots of things need to be confirmed during thsis WIP as we have spoken about before ..I am here for you mate ..........I reckon I will paint another one as well ...so get those badges right etc etc .

Pics ..well at least you can sculpt;) ...seriously though mate this is going to be a challenge for you and one I a sure you will rise to .

Have you done any rework on the face (eyes /eyebrows/ears?)

Lots of references waiting for you ..perhaps a different version of the medal layout ..yes I know you would probably want to keep it as picture ?

Looking forward to seeing more on this and in the flesh so to speak

That type of face will make a superb Russian ethnic type. Partisan for ww2, Napoleonic, or some orthodox priest

As far as Edwards - there still work to be done, but you are getting there.

Thanks guys glad you like him,
Ken, Yeah second time around he seems to becoming together a lot faster with a lot less cursing!(y)
Cheers
