Looks really good so far... My only "rivet/button counting" is that Reebok didn't make hockey equipment during the Soviet era. If memory serves, Soviet National/Red Army Teams were equiped with Jofa gear.
Other than that, the red of the sweater is excellent and I was also wondering if it's a McFarlane figure. If it is a bust, who makes it?

I'll be following this with interest

A Soviet-era ice hockey player. Now that's something you don't see on here every day. Nice work on the reds.

Lovely object and a nice start on it. Can't wait to see the rest of him. By the way, who are you planning to depict? So many options pop up in my head.

Nick ,

Nice work and a very different subject indeed , like the red very nicely done.

ChaosCossack ,

Hey Nap
My experience with hockey equipment comes from spending more time in hockey equipment than street clothes (in my youth of course), coaching kids hockey for 25 odd years, watching my son play right up to the junior level and of course watching Team Canada beat up on the Soviets since '72!!!!:p:ROFLMAO:

Still want to know where this piece came from

Colin

Thank you all for your comments!

Jomo, maybe, but I do not know for sure.

ChaosCossack , I agree to the Soviet national team did not wear gloves Reebok. Figure was bought in a toy store, I decided to repaint the player, to make the Soviet national team.

Work with the head. Face painted "ANDREA Color"

That explains it :) Is it a McFarlane figure or a no-name brand? I'm very interested in what you've done here, I think its a good idea (too bad about the gloves ;)) ... I have thought of repainting a McFarlane figure, just never got around to it.

Following closely
