Nice whites without exaggerated shadows and highlights to them. Just a suggestion - perhaps some shadow and highlight on the bronze chest plate to 'lift' it a little?

Fellow MilMinMen,
I am amazed at the rapidity that my Pony Soldier busts have been followed by similar items on PF. Recently I noted that a bust of the Sand Pebbles character Jake Holman appeared very similar to mine now a Young bust of Alexander I released in July 2013 appears. So far I have found 4 busts (Aussie Lighthorseman, Douglas McArthur, Jake Holman, now Alexander) strangely similar to my sculpts. Is it just coincidence? or am I just paranoid?

I am accusing no one of copying it just seems highly coincidental. Anyone else found this happening?

FYI Pony solder is no longer selling kits - all inventory is now in the hands of Will Leary of Glory Guys in North Carolina

The Y.M. A.T.G. bust - well it's the actor Colin Farrell really in the film role isn't it - was released about 3 years ago so as far as that inference is concerned, it is totally unfounded. I also doubt very much that a subject diverse and high profile manufacturer like Y.M. would plagiarize your or any other sculptors work or ideas. I am unable to comment or express any opinions about the other stuff you mention as I am unfamiliar with them.

You're just paranoid. Maybe delusional. And it's poor form to hijack other people's threads.

Ummmmmm the plagiarism allegation is precisely how I read it and I suspect most others will too. As for your "ruffling feathers" comment, why so defensive as I simply replied ( I thought quite politely and constructively) to your original post which suggested, to me anyway, that you were inviting comments or opinions from the PF membership about similarities to your own work; otherwise what was the purpose of posting it? Irrespective, Happy New Year!

The YM miniatures bust was produced in 2009. Your bust was advertised in 2013. If you are highlighting you plagiarised YM Miniatures (your bust looks nothing like Colin Farrell so its not a very good copy I am anyway) its a strange place to be doing it. I think it is poor form to copy other company's products, I imagine everyone here would advise you not to do it.

Nice paintjob, I agree it needs a little lifting here and there in the skin and the green breast plate, but I think your picture has bled a few of your highlights out a little bit.

Nice work Nick.
If it is possible for you, you should take some more attention to shading and highlighting. It seems a bit flat. The white is great. The breastplate as the leatherwork seem more shading and highlighting.

Put your bloody verbal swords away !
It was a comment and passing thought...maybe misplaced but nevertheless a comment.

In the probably misquoted words of the Bard, "me thinks thou protest too loudly"

My last comment o this farce; "God bless and have a Happy New Year' !
