Hello planeteers,
Finally decided to work on one of Art Girona's classic figure, drummer of the soria regiment , Pensacola 1781.
I decided to paint this drummer in a different scheme than blue, so the Irla da regiment would have had red coat, and pants, royal blue vest , cuffs and turn down collar.
Cheers

HI Daniel,
I like the look of this little fellow. The colours of jacket and pants on the drawing look great.
Have fun with yet another red coat.....before you realise it you will be painting British Soldiers.;
All the very best
Keith

Thanks Keith, nothing wrong with painting some. Rave and proud Redcoated Brits.
I can't believe i jad this figure for almost 4 years, and i have 2 more of he same that i bought at that time, don't ask why...just one of those things..
best regards

With your skill Daniel I am sure that you can convert to two more regimental drummers.
Cheers,
Keith

That is exactly what i was thinking of doing Keith, but i will ha e to finish at least 3 more figures that just need base and minor touch ups to be finished.
Thanks for passing by Keith, always good to have you on board

Hello planeteers,
I have made a little bit of progress on this drummer.
Finished the livery lace and finished the blue cuffs and vest.
For the lace:
Base , vallejo silver grey
Livery: formula P3 "murderous magenta", which is very close to crimson.
Blue facings:
Base, Andrea basic blue and a dab of dark prussian blue.
Lights, added medium blue to the mix.
Shadows, used vallejo blue wash.
Cheers

Hi Daniel ,

You are really enjoying this and it shows , love seeing your posts the figures are always something special ...

P3 paints ...how do you find these and do they mix ok with others ok , they look similar to the old citadel range ?

Thanks for sharing

Nap

Hi Nap,
I find the P3 paints are really nice, they are a little bit more "liquid" than the old citadel, probably same consistency as vallejo game color range, but their coverage is really good and colors dry up to a slight sheen.
If i was you i would definitely give it a try.
I don't have many, probably like 7 of them in total and no complaints.
Ps: they mix with other brands perfect.
Best regards

Hello folks, i worked on this chap for a little bit today.
Added shades and light to the coat, i am still not done but almost there.
red base is Formula P3 khador red base plus a dab of red liquitex acrylic paint.
Lighs, base us khador higlight.
Shadows, base plus formula P3 sanguine red.

Hi Daniel,
Happy new year.
Good progress on this drummer. Your choice of red mixes have worked very well.
Looking really nice.
All the best,
Keith

Thanks my friend!, just trying to get the hang of it.
they tend to turn dull after they dry up ( acrylics) but i am pleased with the result.
i hope you had a blast with wife and family over there, i am sure it was quite a celebration in the old continent.
best wishes for you and loved ones.

Coming along very well Marquis, I have him primed up, but waiting in the drawer for 'the right moment' to really start! Good luck and enjoy him.

Thanks Anthony, i had this chap for almost 3 years or so, in fact, this is one of 3 of the same that i have.
I don't remember if the other two were gifts or i bought them on sale somewhere.
I think i willl be switching heads or convert to something with the other drummers.
Looking forward to see yours, i am sure it will be an eye catcher one.
Best regards

Finished tweaking the coat and pants.
For the coat turnbaks:
Base, Vallejo flat red.
Lights, base plus Andrea French orange.
shadows, base plus vallejo game color gory red.
pants:
Base, vallejo vermilion red.
lights,base plus light orange.
shadows, base plus formula p3 sanguine red shadow..
