Wow, he looks great! Nice job on the shield, too. One note though, he actually represents a Signifer and not an Aquilifer who would have carried the Legion's Eagle.

Tremendous paint of an already superb figure. The shield work in particular is masterful and overall well presented with the groundwork. Whilst I really like the 'earth' tones of the clothing (IMHO) and by way of intended constructive reply, I think the quite vibrant violet colour on the signum 'tassel' really detracts from the rest of the piece and something in a more muted tone would compliment it much better. That said, perhaps the lighting or flash exaggerates the effect?
