Hi Folks,
When it first came out, I liked everything about the Young Miniatures U.S. Ranger bust apart from the fact that it had no helmet option.
Earlier this year I saw an excellent one on PF that had been completed as I preferred (by 'SLR').
Eventually, I decided to have a go myself.
This is my effort, and is my last figure for 2016.
The roughening of the helmet surface was achieved using Tamiya diorama texture paint (grit effect - light sand).
The face is painted in oils over enamels. The helmet is mainly enamels with oil for the leather liner strap and acrylic for the main strap. The clothing and straps etc. were painted using Lifecolor acrylics. Strap ends, buckles etc. were painted in enamels and then scribbled over with a lead pencil. A light buffing with a stiffish brush achieved a suitable glint of bare metal.
I thoroughly enjoyed working on this one, and hope you like the result.
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to All.
Cheers,
Andrew
