Young Miniatures Spartan Warrior bust. Based on the movie 300, so of course this needed multiple viewings, purely in the name of research. Painted in acrylics with oil washes on the helmet and shield. These were base coated with paints from Darkstar Miniatures "Molten Metals" range. I started off with Blackened Bronze, then Bronze, before the highlights were picked out with Renaissance Gold.

The movie remains true to the original comic book or graphic novel if you like but alas not to the real historical events (the completely fictional helmet being a stark reminder).Your painting on the other hand remains true to the highest levels and standards of bust painting.Exceptional work!
