Lion flat

I've finally finished a figure! My last completed piece was 1 1/2 years ago. I've started several in that time but just wasn't able to get anything completed until now. That one was a lion flat I did for a co-worker. I liked the piece so much that I got another one for myself. I modified it by removing the 3rd head as I felt it made the piece look unbalanced. The first was mounted in a 5"x7"picture frame on a black satin background. This one is in a 4"x6" frame and I used a photo of an African plain I found on line. I'm happy with the results. But I would like to hear your thoughts on the background idea. Thanks, Craig

I remember your earlier piece, Craig. You had it at our show, if I remember correctly.

I like the tones of the lions' pelts, and the mane is more vibrant on this version, I think.

These flats are amazing but I prefer the one with the afrcan background and two lions.

The two lions with the background are my favourite. I still missing the contrast on the photo with the three lions but that could be the photo

Very nice painting and texturing.
