Hi Folks

This is the latest piece I have been working on this week. its new from FER Miniatures and is 75mm in scale and cast in resin. I fell in love with this piece when I first saw it, really nice pose and character.

This is my first figure using a new range of Gel acrylic paints from a company called Warcolour

http://www.warcolours.com

Every aspect of the figure is painted in their paints other than the metallics which are from the DarkStar range of metallic acrylics.

I found these paints quite interesting and different to use than any other acrylics I use and adding small amounts of tap water allows thinning and blending in the same way as oils, all very interesting and a nice exercise. I quite like them but will take some getting use to.

Any comments most welcome as always.

Sorry about the crap photos done on my camera phone and the flash GRRRRR

Did you buy the basic set Tommi (14 colours) I like the fact that they seem to have a slightly longer drying time

Hi Keith

I got the 20 colour set one coat and some of the layer colour sets of 8, flesh, red, orchre and browns, wet your brush with water for the areas you need to blend to get the colour transitions, It took some getting use to but will try another figure soon and apply what I have learnt from the first figure.

Very nice Tommi, great tones, have you tried mixing the warcolours with Vallejo’s? Just interested how it would affect each brands drying time etc.

Cheers

Neil
