Like this a lot he certainly looks vey effective , it's amazing they could attack wearing this .

Like the way it's painted as well ....I take it it's not a commercial piece ?

The main purpose of such a soldier was to cut the barbed wire in order to open access to the enemy trench to the assault squad, but very often the machine guns won the challenge.

@Francesco: yes, it's true.. indeed they was called death squad because the many of them did not turn into their trench, after action...

Nap, these men would have been sent in advance of an attack to cut the wire, hence the wire cutters and the body armour
