Cheers Roger, it took me ages to grow it like that. I also dabble a little in bonsai on the side ;)

    Jo Sonja limited palette

In my constant quest to make things simple, tonight I've been looking at reducing my box of 30+ JS paints down to the bare essentials. First to go were the convenience mixes, i.e. those made from more than one pigment. Once I was left with the single pigment colours, I picked out a warm and cool...

    Iroquois (completed)

Hey again folks, I just finished this one today, just in time for my club Christmas competition on Thursday, WiP thread here: http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/iroquois.81271/ He is the 120mm Iroquois from Mitches Military Models and is painted mainly in Jo Sonja acrylics with the metals...

    WIP Critique Iroquois

I changed my mind about the powder horn cord and chipped all the Apoxie off, it just didn't look right. Instead, I made the cord from 0.4 mm lead wire and I'm a lot happier with how it looks now. I had a little bit of a drama while I was glueing the cord in place which involved some superglue...

He's getting there, I think he'll be done this weekend....probably.....maybe ;) I've made a cord for the powder horn from Apoxie and added a bit of dirt to his leggings and moccasins as well as finishing off the touch-ups that needed doing. The jury's still out on the warpaint, I'm quite happy...

WIP Critique New Year Resolution - Learn to Sculpt

Cheers guys, I've had a few months off concentrating on painting and making some plastic models but I hope to get back on it soon. My aim is still to make and paint my own stuff, I haven't sculpted anything yet that I would consider good enough to paint but hopefully that will come. I might have...

WIP Critique New Year Resolution - Learn to Sculpt

It's been a while but I'm back on the putty again. I've been messing about in my van today (i.e. skiving) trying to sculpt a head with a bit of character. It's supposed to be a smile but it looks more like an evil grin. Scale -1/16. Super Sculpey (50/50 original and firm)

Back to painting. A relaxing hour or so in front of the telly resulted in a couple of painted moccasins that are passable as a pair to the casual eye. I also blended the putty work into the surrounding woodwork (sort of, might need some more work). I still need to hide the putty around his...

    Metal models conversion

That's a beautiful piece Ron. A lot of this conversion stuff goes way over my head but I know a nice model when I see it and that is something special. Well worth the time and effort you've put into it (y)

Not much actual modelling done today, just some putty work to make him look a bit more "seated" on his perch. I acquired some A3 black foamboard though and made a bigger dark box to accommodate larger models like this one (and some of my other non-figure models). This is the result, using...
