WIP Critique Templar Banner Holder XII Century

I also have the white set, which as mentioned above, give great results if you sneak your own mixes in between, such as lightening the highlight mix gradually for smoother transitions. It's a good base to start from. Haven't tried the blacks as I mix my own, but may invest in the flesh set. Mary

Terrific job, Chris. Reminds me of the old 'grizz' hunter in Jeremiah Johnson! Well done, especially the skin tones. Mary

Completed Critique Pegaso Knight Hospitaller 90mm

Hi Spyros, wonderful job on a great figure! I often use oils as I'm still learning acrylic techniques. I put my paints on a piece of cardboard (the brown type used for boxes) and a lot of the oil drains away, leaving them still workable but with much less 'sheen.' Give it a try:) Looking foward...

    Mary's little Mohawk

Jazz, I wasn't sure what to choose as I'm totally new to groundwork...I think you're right, I should have torn it up a bit more. If you have suggestions for my next 'shopping list' for accessories, my local shop can order whatever they don't have. I got some long grass and it looks like doll hair:(

    Mary's little Mohawk

Geez guys, painting these little 54mm figures is hard, even with magnification!!...he's from Andrea's Golden West Series and I did my best on the flesh tones. Added a bit of 'war paint' around the eyes and on his shoulder; the box art isn't the greatest but I did my best. I had fun with the...

WIP Critique Red Lancer 1815- A start

Hey Colin This is really coming along, huge advances in your work. I have a set of Stuart Hale's printer's inks, they are awesome and I wonder if some of the colours, (brass, bronze, gold, silver, old gold, old silver etc) would work with Napoleonics? I can see where they might really help these...

That's precisely why I made the point. I am in no way skilled enough to bend the legs. Horses are my specialty, I rode, drew and painted them for years, so I know if I bend the legs to fit those holes, even if they don't break, no real horse could stand like that without wrenching his haunch...
