I've just finished my 1C Roman Pratorian Guardsman. For this figure, I also realised 1C roman room decorated with some greco-roman pottery and fresco and tried presenting the mosaic floor. For the shield, inspired by Hardy's. Welcom all sorts of critics!

my methode to paint metal part and shield It's so simple that I'm afraid you would be disappointed... Anyway I try to explain it roughly. First of all, I paint all the parts in black acrylic, and add a layer in gold acrylic. Then, I apply sepia oil color sufficiently on that, and remove it...
