    British General Sir Thomas Graham

Damn! I have had to open a new piggy bank, just for these busts! This one is faithfully based on the portrait by Sir Thomas Lawrence of Graham when he was a Lt. general (there is also one of him as a field marshal): Since female busts are coming more into fashion, it would be nice to see one...

Completed Critique British Grenadier, 1777 (Beneito 54mm)

Yes, this is a very nice figure. Often, when I do "extra touches" to a figure I tend to get fussy, but the hand highlights were a real improvement. I understand that you are in H.K., so I was surprised to see that you gave the scale with a 100 yen piece. I'm not sure how many forum members know...

    Acrylics Top 10 Vallejo paints

Thanks, Mat! Now we all know what colours we should be getting from the "choose any ten paints" site on Ebay! :D

    New from Pegaso

Thanks, Flashman. That should clear up a lot of misconceptions about licensing copyright material. I would like to add one more point on behalf of the copyright holders, though, whose lawyers diligently seek out any infringement -- I guess that Disney is the poster child of this practice. If...

    "The Sacred Pipe" - AuthorSculpt

Sergey: I am seriously impressed, not only by your miniature but by your research into what even for immigrant Americans is an alien culture. Alas, I have found few Americans familiar with Baba-Yaga!

Completed Critique Dafadar , Governor's general bodyguard, India 1912

Yes, now that I reread it, Giovanni, it doesn't look too clear to me, either!. As you know, Indian cavalrymen in "native" dress, generally wore one of two kinds of "frock coat". Both were traditional garments, the Kurta and the Alkhalak, and both had a "skirt" worn over trousers or pantaloons...

Only Teutonic horse ... for the moment

The horse looks brilliant, and you can't go wrong with a horny helm! :D

Completed Critique Dafadar , Governor's general bodyguard, India 1912

Not only is this painting up really nicely, but it is a delight to see these old Indian figures by Chota Sahib, again. Their Indian figures were quite accurate, but let me add a couple of minor points from two sources, Tradition, No.50 and Indian Army Uniforms: Cavalry, by W.Y. Carman, which are...

    Completed Viking Drakkar

Great job! I remember those shields. We had a drakkar, with shields in Lincoln Park in Chicago, and I remember carving out and sanding a wooden hull for my 12 yr old son 30 years ago, two days before he was due to hand it in. Still have the scars on my fingers!

Grant, that is the best SBS on boots, or black leather, for that matter, that I have seen. Many thanks!

    A Little Light Relief

This is absolutely amazing! I have never seen that furring technique before. Did you pre-mount the lower teeth on a plate, slip it in and cover it with the tongue? No one who hasn't tried it can know how frustrating that operation can be! What is the scale? I feel presumptuous about offering any...

WIP the last trophy - Waterloo campaign 1815

Preda: Thanks very much for the information. I joined FigurinItaly and remembered that my Italian is worse than my bad Spanish, but I was able to muddle through. This incident is well known to British students of the battle and was cited by regimental officers at the time, and by...

WIP the last trophy - Waterloo campaign 1815

A great figure, and all balanced on one leg! He looks a happy fellow, at least for a few more hours. I'm familiar with the colours borne by the 2/69th at Quatre Bras, but did your research reveal whether it was the King's Colour or the Second Colour that was captured, and if the latter, is "2nd...

A pleasure to look at. I have sculpted figures of tigers, leopards and cougars, and your leopard-cum-cougar had me completely fooled! Great job.
