    A new moon for Christmas...

Hi Quang That's a fantastic figure. I'd love to see it marketed, but I'm not sure I could ever do it the justice it deserves! All the best, and I hope that guy in red is good to you! Cheers Andy

    Let it snow...

Hey Lou Well if you drop it, it will a) explode into lots of little pieces sending little particles of glass at you, and b) those could hurt your eyes. The gas is not the problem, but you should still turn your head! I can't see myself grinding one up, but it's nice to see all these snowy...

    Let it snow...

Hi I've used several types of snow: You can get stuff called 'microballoons' for snow. They are a fine powder that looks like powder snow. The stuff gets everywhere easily. You apply glue to the groundwork, then the microballoons, then clean up. That stuff will wreck your lungs, so you should...

    Water based oils

Hi That should work. I'd recommend trying it out. The hard part is getting the right range of colors! Remember, if you have any regular oils, then you can add a little of them to darken or lighten a color. Andy

    La Meridiana

And that 1st Guards figure is based on a figure that was shown in competition in 1997! I have an old Figurines magazine, and was surprised to see that same figure in the old mag. I'm not sure if this was just slow to market or what. Andy

    Water based oils

There was a big article on using these in Military Modelling a while back (Vol. 30, Issue 13 in 2000). They can be used with water or as regular oil paints. Mixed with a little 'regular' oil paint, they stay water mixable. I think if you have more than 30% or 50% regular oils, then you need to...

    That's what I'm painting now

I'd recommend pre-shading with all that area to cover. Good luck! At least it's easy with a roller! And think how much faster than painting a figure. Andy

Uniforms of the Royal Artillery 1716-1966

Any Royal Artillery buffs out there? I have a decent copy of the first edition of this book. I will sell for US$35 plus shipping. That's a good $10 less than at Alibris and other dealers. The dust jacket is rough around the edges, but the book is in great shape for its age (1966). All the...
