Completed Chasseurs a cheval de la Garde kettledrummer, 1810

Yes. The 1mm wide reins are cut in a lead foil, while the « chasse mouches » are made of flattened 0.25mm soldering wire.

Review Horse artillery De Garde 1809 " Andrea in 54 mm

Thanks for the review. The schabraque looks impressively crisp while the horse is rather common (especially the legs). Andrea does not seem to use the best alloys. This said the 90mm version might be more interesting.

    Flesh Tone Base Coat?

I use aibrushed Humbrol #1, 28, 63 or 64 as primer in three diluted coats, on which I paint with oils directly. I know more and more painters are using black primer or black combined with white sprayed from down to top and vice versa, so as to emphasize contrasts. Why not ?

Completed Chasseurs a cheval de la Garde kettledrummer, 1810

Here we go with this new project. Bare horse from French sculptor Eisenbach, bit of Historex and fair amount of scratch.

Completed Standard bearer, French 4th Chasseurs Rgt., 1792

I've been using lead straps since my first modelling days because they were the standard back then. Having sufficient stock of lead foils for the next two or three décades I do not feel like changing for something else. Glad that my kettledrummer had some success, another one is on the bench!

Completed Standard bearer, French 4th Chasseurs Rgt., 1792

Afte a 1,5y break following the birth of my daughter, I could finally resume working on the figure and am now ready to start the painting phase. Also note I changed the base for a diagonal positioning which suits the figure better IMHO (and following a recommendation from Ivo Preda last year).

Hello Jay, wanted to achieve a more subtle rendition on the upper strands which are thinner indeed.

New Napoleon 200 mm from Pegaso

I was extremely lucky to discover the very first castings in Siena in July. That sculpture from maestro Konnov is absolutely fantastic.

    news Metal Modeles

Great additions to MM range. The horse could be used for the colonel of hussars.

Completed Standard bearer, French 4th Chasseurs Rgt., 1792

Good day to all I have recently started this project on the non so much represented French Revolution. Supplies are mostly from Metal Modeles but a good amount of scratch will be required to represent the characteristics of that transitional uniform.
