Hi all. After so many years I have decided to restart this project from the very beginning using a new copy. Here is where I am so far. The blue ribbon of the Saint Esprit order is at a very early stage.

The blue braid on the top of the drumskins is also trompe l'oeil.

Paul, There is a small drop of liquin in the eye to achieve à deeper effect but what you can see here is all trompe l'œil (especially the white spot).

Good evening Long time no pictures. Here under where I stand tonight. I am not counting hours, the challenge is to achieve the highest level of details.

First attempt with motor ended up as a disaster, I then went manual - so much time consuming - and finally had another try with the Dremel. And it worked fine. You have to on/off every 2 seconds but it really works.
