New 75mm ACW Mississippi 17th inf 1861 from TFB Miniatures

If you're still looking for early war suggestions consider the 1st Minnesota Volunteer Infantry. The state issued some uniform items that were worn at First Manassas. According to the Regimental History of the First Minnesota, 1861-1864 by R. Holcombe, the state initially issued Black...

New 75mm ACW Mississippi 17th inf 1861 from TFB Miniatures

To the best of my knowledge no early war 19th Alabama jacket survived and no photos have ever surfaced showing the back. Don Toriani may have some insight but this is my best suggestion. The jackets as seen in the pics are very, very simple and are similar in cut to other militia jackets. No...

New 75mm ACW Mississippi 17th inf 1861 from TFB Miniatures

Here's one I never seen done....19th Alabama with coat tails, Mississippi Rifle and a weird bayonet. The Mississippi Rifle was 48.5 (123 cm) in length Three different pics but the same Bowie knife - obviously a studio prop and perhaps the rifle and bayonet too. But Troiani shows the...

New 75mm ACW Mississippi 17th inf 1861 from TFB Miniatures

Not much material on Zagonvi's Battalion but their tailored black uniforms would make a nice piece. Van Dorn's 11th Miss red uniforms didn't last long but the Colt revolving rifle would be a eye-catcher if done correctly. Besides, that uniform lends itself to other uniform schemes. I like...

Interesting figure....any plans on doing other scales such as 90mm? Looks like a 3D print so I was just wondering

New 75mm ACW Mississippi 17th inf 1861 from TFB Miniatures

I will certainly keep a lookout for new figures in this series and am glad they are proving to be popular. ACW is my favorite subject area. Let me know if I can ever be of help with research Regards Rick in Virginia

New 75mm ACW Mississippi 17th inf 1861 from TFB Miniatures

Both ACW and 75mm. Definitely going to step up for this one. I'd get the Rhode Island Infantry if it were an enlisted man. Never seen a RI officer wearing this particular uniform. Hint to Steve...do a regular RI soldier to accompany your officer

    79th New York Highlanders

I used Mike Thomas' method but only 5 horizontal divisions instead of 7. Here's my dicing method for the Glengarry I start with a wide white stripe and a light pencil centerline guide. I begin with painting my first blue pair concentrating on a sharp leading and the centerline edge on...

    79th New York Highlanders

I'll try and make a quick sketch on how I did the dicing. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be when I first look. I used a modified Mike Thomas method for the hose. I will scan it in and post it. It will be a scan of a copy but I think it will be readable. One thing I did find in my...

    79th New York Highlanders

FYI - I did a short review of this 75mm Zone Miniatures .....see below Thanks This is my 75mm 79th New York Highlanders by ZONE Miniatures (ZM-75002) The figure consists of 22 pieces and the casting was flawless with crisp details and I really love the face. Details are sharp you can even...

Hi David Are those Shenandoah figures? They look familiar but I can't place them.

Really nice figure....I hope my flesh tones come out as well as yours. Have my version primed but still in the queue. This is a nice Feh figure.

    Weapon designs for figures

Just want to endorse Venko's weapons. I've placed two orders with him now and both were received in a timely manner and well packaged for safe shipment. My second order was to rescale several 1861 Springfields to exact lengths to replace 1/24 scale/75mm kit weapons....(knowing all "same"...

    Acrylic Flow Medium/Thinner?

Just picked up a hint??? at last night's miniature meeting. One of the members swears by Kodak Photo-Flo as an acrylic thinner/flow medium. Any one have experience with this?

That would be great. A model 1861 Springfield at 64 mm should go well with my Feh and Zone Civil War figures. Let me know the cost per copy and we'll take care of it via PayPal if that's OK with you. The most popular Enfield an Civil War was the Model 1853. If you need reference material on...

    Weapon designs for figures

Hi Venko Your 1861 and 1863 Springfields were very, very nice. Really beautiful. I do have a question for you. These are 1/24 scale about 59mm in length. Unfortunately not all 1/24 scale/75mm miniatures are the same size. Your Springfields are a little short for several figures I have on...

Looks like it is coming along nicely. Have the same figure in the queue primmed and ready.

With a slight modification to the gun carriage you could offer several different gun tubes, i.e., Parrot, James, Confederate Napoleon - both bronze and Iron, howitzer, 3in Ordnance Rifle.
