    Advice on modelling 5th Chasseurs

Perhaps to clarify my points, I attach more pics from the Bucquoy book as well which shows more Chasseurs with the scalloped edging shabraques. I think that perhaps all the different types of edgings were used during the early years of the Nap Wars. These then were standardised into wolf teeth...

    Advice on modelling 5th Chasseurs

Hi Steve, That's an interesting figure to model. From the pic, that edging looks like a wavy strip of cloth sewn overlapping to create a scalloping effect, not wolf teeth edging (more associated with sheepskin shabraque). If you look closely, most of them seem to suggest this scalloping...

Hi Simon, The older editors and engravers have passed on. Unfortunately, so has Segom. I do remember seeing another similar Sacre set in a Christian Tirana/Boverat/Bretegnier catalog many years back but that was when I was an active member of the Int Flat Fig Society then Rgds Victor I

    120mm General Lasalle

Hi Simon, Nigel, Kev and Melanie, Thanks for yr overly generous comments. This is prob a one-off piece for me. I usually work in 1/32. The kit was given to me many years ago. I really procrastinated on finishing this piece..... Rgds Victor.

Siege of Badajoz Richard Caton Woodville Shadowbox diorama

Hi Mike and Nigel, Thanks for yr kind comments. I liked this painting g because it has a lot of frenzied action. I subsume my sculpting and painting technique solely to the piece at hand. I try to emulate the original painting style of depiction as much as possible. I pt in oils and use both...

Siege of Badajoz Richard Caton Woodville Shadowbox diorama

Richard Caton Woodville did a bw illustration of the Siege of Badajoz (The Devil's Own), based on the 88th Regt Connaught Rangers. This picture was later colorised and I based my piece on these two pictures. Shakos and other details are not quite correct but I'm following the painting. I...
