    Kuton 1/10 Indiana Jones

Thanks Nigel. The digi sculpt had terrific texture so I can’t claim the leather realism was all me.

    Kuton 1/10 Indiana Jones

It’s a great texture exercise for sure. The leather coat had some really nice modelled grain and texture so it was an easy paint. The hat and trousers were sponge painted. First use of a cosmetic sponge and I learned a lot. Colin

    Completed Gouvion St. Cyr bust

Approaching completion. He’s on his plinth. Just need to paint the under surfaces, legion sash, legion medal and do all manner of touch ups. I may play with his face more too…although I am thinking that many a good paint job has been ruined by the search for perfection. My mind is wandering to...

    Kuton 1/10 Indiana Jones

Just realized I didn’t post this 1/10 Indiana Jones figure sourced from Scale Collectables. It’s also available as a bust. This is a digi print rather than a casting. It was superbly cleaned up prior to shipping. Acrylics, acrylic gouache and acrylic inks. Colin

Thanks Malc. It’s tough for sure.

Thanks Simon. Kitchen sink of paints. Base is Liquitex mid grey liquid pro. Then Golden liquid pro pewter, stainless steel, silver, two brands of ground silver powder in a clear medium, liquitex silver ink, Sargent’s liquid metal silver (sadly discontinued), and lots of inks including raw...

    Completed Gouvion St. Cyr bust

I like the idea of posting a single grid of pics with various views. I might adopt this as my norm. There might be a break in the action as we just said good bye to a treasure cat after almost 17 years. Thanks Nap.

Thanks Kev. It’s hard to decide how often to post updates. It’s a contest between showing major SBSs and spamming the site. Colin

Progressing on the lace including epaulettes.

Will be yes. Epaulettes are just base coated so far. I may wash the metallic thread items with a highly diluted silver ink. But that decision is to come after the cuirass is done.

Working the arm embroidery and aiguilettes.

    Completed Gouvion St. Cyr bust

Tunic sleeves painted with a make up sponge. Added some diluted acrylic ink washes. I’m painting all the non-metallics including metallic embroidery first so I can dull coat those parts of the model without impacting the finish on the metallics (e.g. steel cuirass). Colin

She doesn’t have the balance to be mischievous. She sits in front of you, raises a front paw and falls over backwards. But she’s the most affectionate animal ever. St. Cyr’s lace formula is base dark grey, highlight 50:50 dark grey and pink flesh, then unleached titanium, then parchment, then...

Going grey per the prints and paintings I’ve seen. I’ll play with his hair some more but it’s almost there. Colin
