Still have more to do on his face and hair but almost there. I’m moving on to his collar and cuirass lining for now.
Am I the only one seeing Jeff Tracy of Thunderbirds fame in this bust?

While I am painting St. Cyr I am fending off a rescue cat we have just adopted. She has bonded to me and wants to live on my lap. She’s what is known as a “wobbly cat” due to having FIP as a kitten. Good thing I’m not painting in oils or I would have hair in my paint for sure. She’s a lovely cat...
Alexandre's box art uses metallics and if I can come near that I will be a happy painter.
A bit more progress. I am posting face updates frequently so the progression can be seen.

Thanks Henk. It’s an optical illusion. The bust is leaning back and chin down a bit so the red cuirass lining obstructs his neck in a front view. It’s superb sculpt IMO. Check out these box art pics.
And a bit more progress. Still working his face.

Four here too. I have a bed behind my painting chair. There are usually two felines sleeping on it as they seem to have separation anxiety for me…these two are recent rescue adds to our family. I’m used to cat hair in figure paint.

Starting Alexandros’ excellent Gouvion St Cyr bust (200mm). Part of their excellent and growing Napoleonic leaders series. This one is from 2019.
Acrylics and inks.
Initial flesh tones…lots more to come.

That might be the best in the series so far and the others are all terrific. Looking forward to getting his release mate too..Marshal Marmont I believe.
