    200mm 1st Virginian Cavalry Trooper

Superb! I wish more bust sculptors would do this. Is the hat cast separate from the head, or are they together?

    N-s Prod. "cent-gardes"

Nelly ou Samy: Any chance you could provide those photos in higher resolution? We ain't all 20 years young . . .

    WIP Critique Afghan Girl (wip)

Adrian: Once you add her eyebrows, they will help the eyes to "pop."The eyebrows are really important in this photo, as they help communicate her youth . . . and more important, her emotion. I would also sculpt the hair so that it stands out further from the facial plane, and drop the hair...

Terrible Kids Stuff - Al Capone

Not at all, Vittorio. In English, a "sow" is a female pig, so you inadvertently made a humorous play on words that relates to the figure (which is called a "pun"). I should have realized it wouldn't translate well. A very creative figure, by the way.

Terrible Kids Stuff - Al Capone

    " . . . he sows terror . . ."? Stop it . . . you guys are punning me to death.

Scots Grey Officer 1815 Waterloo - Imperial Gallery

Nice sculpt, but his chinscales are inverted.

I thought it looked good in the raw, but this is inspiring.

New Company CGS Military Figures, David Grieve, Debra Raymond

That's good to hear . . . I'm truly glad he's still kicking. I left the hobby for many years and am not familiar with his BN, GLA range (sorry, I'm acronym-ignorant), his busts, or "his last few pieces," so I look forward to seeing what he did after I bailed. If anyone ever gets around to...

New Company CGS Military Figures, David Grieve, Debra Raymond

Er . . . you say "had" as in past tense. Forgive my ignorance, but your reference to David tells me that he's either not sculpting any more . . . or that something more "final" has happened in the many years since I was last in involved in this hobby. I have painted, and continue to paint, many...

    Something big this way comes....

I'm pretty sure I played Rugby against this guy back in the mid-'70s. I think he was a prop for the School of Mines.

    New Pilipili ??????

Och, Chippy . . . realize that he is dancing, and that involves a lot of up and down movement in a relatively short space of forward progress . . . so you would naturally see a lot of bits that fly upward inexplicably. It looks quite right to me. I can't argue Derek's comments on the left...

New new free figure from Maurice in case you missed it

The lancer's great, but c'mon, Moz, cough up a photo of the 200mm Life Guard. I'll send you a pile of Christmas socks and cologne in exchange.

    Mounted british officer-the buffs

I have a 120mm Verlinden mounted Cuirassier and it's both a quality sculpt and casting. I think the pose would suit your concept well as the horse is rearing and the Cuirassier is thrusting with his sword.

Jaysus! Where am I going to find the money for this lot?

120mm Mounted lancer Officer sculpted by Maurice Corry

This just gets better and better.

New new free figure from Maurice in case you missed it

Thanks, Moz. I'm really looking forward to it.

New new free figure from Maurice in case you missed it

Did anyone snap a pic of Moz' forthcoming 200mm Life Guards figure at the show a month or so ago? Its release has been delayed. I haven't seen it, but based on my experience with his Coldstream Guardsman, I want it.

    CASTLE news

Your treatment of hair -- human and animal -- is quite amazing, not to mention the character in the expression. I haven't done a bust yet . . . but maybe this one will be my first.

CRECY MODELS NEW RELEASE May 2011

I'm very pleased to see the "full figure" option. I thought the bust was just begging for a pair of legs. Smart marketing. Another recruit for the grey army!
