As I said before, there were two different versions of the kit. The Historical Miniatures instruction sheet puts it as one of mine. Originally the pig-tail was separate. Obviously not on the kit you have. This all takes me back but, if I am honest, the quality of the castings is not good enough...

Nero, The beserkers were for real. I do not know why a search online failed to reveal that fact. Certain Viking warriors were called "berserkers". These fellows were known for going into trance-like fury when in battle. They could achieve seemingly super-human feats when under the berserker...

Merrill, I am no expert on this, but I do not think you can go wrong using black for WWI. All my references show the leather coat as black. Photos seem to concur. I cannot comment on brown. I should think that you might be able to find some actual examples or WWII coats online with a google...

I have to agree with Janne. Yeah, the sculpt is nice. But most of us here are not interested in collecting toys or pre-painted figures. There are plenty of websites for this kind of thing and those of us who are interested in this stuff should have no trouble finding them - if that is our...

Please ignore the use of turpentine with them. Turpentine is NOT a painting medium, but a solvent. You must use some sort of clear PAINT as a carrier for metallic powders. Solvents contain no binders which are needed to make the paint permanent. I recommend buying a little bottle of Testor...
