Damn. After looking at Richie’s metallic version I realize I have glued the wrong end of the broken sten barrel to the SMG. I will be correcting that. I presumed the sight was at the front of the barrel.

Thanks Simon. added the broken sten barrel, painted his wings, started roughing in the groundwork today. The bricks will be roughed up after the glue is dry, using a carbide scraper. They’re sculpey.

Denison progress. I like the dry brush effect. I found that Golden Pro artists’ acrylics are translucent so I did the brown overlay camo in that. Then dry brush in base lightened with unbleached titanium to get a weathered faded look. Not done yet but I’m happy where it’s going. Dirtied him up a...

I agree the galleries are too cumbersome for the impatient among us (which includes me) to bother with. I have always thought it strange that new completed posts are not highlighted on the home page while vbench posts are. Perhaps that is because “completed” was a later addition to the site...

Given he’s holding a Martini, I see this as post battle. So I would dirty and dust him up. Also, for highlights on the scarlet, I would be tempted to mix in some flesh or light wood colour, even if it dulls the finish. He’s in South Africa so fabric dye fade and ingrained dirt/dust/sweat would...
