Master Box "Battle of the Somme"

Wonderful painting, Günther. I really like the scene you've created. I've always hesitated in buying Masterbox kits, but this shows just how well they come up with some replacement heads and skilful brushwork like yours.

    XIV Century Knight

Hi Miklos, The Hungarian knight you painted is stunning. His armour has a nice worn look to it, and I really like the motif on his shield. Great job and good luck with the new figure.

Brilliant work, Fernando. I love the groundwork, and multi-level rocks. The water looks very real and the composition of the base is perfect. Nice work!

Looks great so far, Roger. I really like the horse colour and that segmented armour should definitely be fun to paint.

    EL JUGLAR

Beautifully painted, as always John. I love the vivid colours, and the way you've highlighted the magenta gives it a silky look.

WIP Critique Hurtgen Forest, Autumn 1944 - Part 1, Groundwork

Thanks Paul, Erik and Fernando. I used Vallejo Water Effects for the raindrops. It's a great product to work with, easy to shape and mould once it gets a bit tacky. For the drops on the tree I used a toothpick to add and shape them. Same for the smaller raindrops on the concrete. The larger...

WIP Critique Hurtgen Forest, Autumn 1944 - Part 1, Groundwork

Cheers Martin and Roger. You're both right, the jacket will be tough to paint. The best rain effect on clothing I've seen was on this Bill Sykes figure on Putty&Paint. Check out the photo from the back: http://www.puttyandpaint.com/projects/1974 I think I'm going to try this technique...
