WIP Critique "A Letter from Home"

Interesting figure and great setting. The pose is good although the legs look a little stiff to me, especially the left one (I hope you don't mind me saying so). Looking forward to seeing how you progress. All the best, Elia :)

Great concept, beautifully done. (y) All the best, Elia :)

    WIP Critique Pirate

Thank you for your feedback, Keith & Recastingspecialties. To my mind a successful sculpture is a result of many things (interesting pose, correct proportions etc.) but it all depends on what your aim is: sometimes a pose & proportions need to be exaggerated for expressiveness' sake - but this...

    WIP Critique Pirate

Hello all, this is my latest project, a pirate a friend asked me to sculpt for him. The pose is fixed and next will come the clothing. Comments are welcome. All the best, Elia :)

WIP Critique Gordon Highlander Private 1914

Hello all, here are the latest photos of the project. Casting went better than expected: we moulded the figure in one piece and the hands separately. Detail of the sculpture was captured very well. We made block moulds instead of two-part moulds which was faster but it meant that there was a...

WIP Critique Gordon Highlander Private 1914

Thank you for your comments, Keith & Nap. We poured the silicone about an hour ago - I had help from my sculpture teacher. I've had to remove the arms & mould them separately which means there will be some minor adjustments to be made later. The silicone needs 24 hrs to so now we wait, fingers...

WIP Critique Gordon Highlander Private 1914

Thanks, Keith! Indeed, I learned a lot from it - especially how to make the folds of the clothing & boots. If everything goes according to plan we'll mould it today so in a few days I'll be able to post more pictures. All the best, Elia :)

WIP Critique Gordon Highlander Private 1914

Dear Nap, thank you for your kind comments and suggestions. I'm glad you like it. As this is my first scratchbuild figure I thought I'd keep it simple and concentrate on pose & proportions. The idea was to have him be in a relaxed situation where he doesn't have to wear all his kit. He is...

WIP Critique Gordon Highlander Private 1914

Hello everybody, this is the final sculpture. Now I need to mould it, cast it, paint it and build his surroundings. I was thinking of an estaminet type of scene but there's a lot of work still to be done so I have plenty of time to figure it out. Once again, thank you for all your helpful...

    Kings Figurines

@Keith: out of curiosity I looked at the photos on their website and it's one guitar & one bass. If it is indeed Deep Purple it's sculpted correctly as Steve Morse's Music Man Signature guitar's headstock has four strings on one side and two on the other. All the best, Elia :)

WIP Critique Gordon Highlander Private 1914

Hello everyone, the figure is progressing & I am taking into account all your helpful feedback - thank you! Yesterday I sculpted the head. Looking at the photos I took the eyes are a little uneven, but overall I'm pretty happy with the result, although it will probably need some adjustments...
