Ok so here's the more or less finished article. Just need to do some finishing off on the base. Quite happy with it in the end. It doesn't come across in the pictures but the railtrack is done with humbrol metalcote which can be buffed to a metalic shine when dry. Really worked well on the shiny...

Oh and I´m not a complete beginner. I painted a few GW miniatures when I was younger. This one is my second attempt after coming back to the hobby. Still an absolute novice in comparison to most of the stuff I´ve seen on this site!

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Andrew, I think you´re right regarding the paint mix being too thick. On the hotter days here in Barcelona it´s a constant battle to keep the paint wet enough! That and a combination of me rushing things a bit probably.
