George Bailey “It’s a Wonderful Life”

Joe, That is amazing. That is my favorite movie, I could not imagine how many times I have watched it. The likeness is spot on. From the pose, I would say that is when he is standing next to the Christmas tree about to say "that a boy Clarence". Rusty

    Completed Vignette

Thanks gentlemen, for the kind comments. I really enjoyed creating this type of scene. I hope to do more like this in the near future.

    Completed Vignette

Here are a couple of pictures of my latest project. The figures are from Rado with Alpine heads. The face of the building is part of an old VLS plaster building, that I cut up and modified. The rest is scratch built. I have not been very productive this summer, so it feels good to get something...

    Alpine Miniatures - April 2024

Thanks Taesung, These look nice. It has been a while since you had a 1/35th release. I was beginning to get worried.

Private 91st of Foot South Africa – 1846

Mike, I used to go to Atlanta on a regular basis, but stopped going, as it is a twelve hour drive each way. Last year was the first time I had been in several years, and it was just as I remembered. The people there are great, and the show has lots of great work on the tables.

Private 91st of Foot South Africa – 1846

Simon, Mike and Mobo, Thanks for your comments, I am glad you like this figure. Finishing a figure feels good. I have started at least five projects and put them up lately. I hope this and a trip to the Atlanta Figure show this weekend gets me back in the groove. Rusty

Private 91st of Foot South Africa – 1846

Thanks Mike, I would say the part I am most pleased with is the head. It was the first thing I painted. Then it set on my bench for a couple of weeks. I decided I wanted to get this finished to take to Atlanta, so I completed the rest of the figure in a little over a week, which is really fast...

Private 91st of Foot South Africa – 1846

Good Day All, Here is my latest figure. It is an older piece from Art Girona. I have been having trouble finishing a project lately, so I decided to push through and get this finished. The result was a little sloppy, but it is done. Rusty

WIP 60th Foot ( Royal American ) from Troop 54

The red is Vallejo Flat Red. It is painted over resin that I had originally primed black and didn't like it, so I stripped as much of it as possible. The black left shadows in the folds, so I primed it with a clear lacquer flat. The red is just a base coat at this stage, but the shadows and...

Jeffshiu's Miniatures 120mm WWII British 2nd SAS Regiment (France 1944)

I like these. It looks like the guy in the jerkin may have dropped the mag to his carbine though.

    Completed Black Hills Trapper

This is one of my favorite periods. Years ago, I painted several of the Andrea 54mm pieces they had from this period. I have thought about picking up some of the Le Meridien line and giving them a try. I really like how this is turning out. Rusty

WIP 60th Foot ( Royal American ) from Troop 54

Here are a couple of pictures of a figure I am just starting. It is a 75mm, Officer 60th Foot Royal American from Troop 54. I hope to get started on the uniform and then go back to the flesh once I get some more colors added. Any advice, likes or dislikes would be appreciated. It has been...
