Ben, Did you seal the base work prior to pouring the resin? If not, I would say the problem lays with the paint you have used and it is reacting to the resin when it starts to exotherm or when the exotherm starts, it is heating/expanding the air trapped in the base causing tiny trapped bubbles...

G'day Marc, In the 3rd photo, on the back wall is a reverse cycle split system air conditioner. Last night here it was -1 ºC, but inside the shed it was 24 ºC @ 35% humidity. Nice and warm and dry. Perfect for resin casting. The insulation is basically bubble wrap covered in a foil. It cuts down...

That sucks! But white metal figures here in Australia are very pricey. When I worked at The Military Workshop, our mark up was not that very high due to postage costs. Too expensive, that's no excuse, try a different hobby or learn to sculpt. A while ago I had a very heated screaming session...

Perhaps you could have said words to the effect of, "Another idea Mary could be to PM a link to myself, Gordy or other members here to the item you are thinking of buying-there are plenty of people on here...

The only problem with that is, there are people out there that will not give a s*** if the figure/kit is a recast copy or not and make it easier for them to find and buy one. Jason

One other thing that will give it away, is if the "box art" on Ebay or other sites, has black and yellow angled stripes down one side of the image or a different name as to what the original manufacture has. We all know who he is! Or, when in doubt, don't buy it! Cheers Jason
