    What Figure is This?

I purchased this from SK (fast response and pleasant communication). It's my first resin figure and the detail is phenomenal! If I can end up doing it justice, I'll certainly try another of these.

    Poilu, 1915 (JMD Miniatures, 65mm)

Great job and a really cool figure. I just looked up JMD and they have some really intriguing pieces.

    Captain, Cameron Highlanders, 1882 (Victoria's Heroes, 54mm)

Spectacular work and even more so in that scale!

    Completed 1/35 scale Box Diorama

Have you tried it with the lighting coming from the fireplace only? I'll bet that would really look slick.

Review Roman Cornicen from Altores Studio

Wow! That looks fantastic! Can the same level of detail exist at both offered scales?

“On the Plains of Abraham”, 1759

Nice job! Love the texture on the hat!

Poste Millitaire Conquistador 70mm (slight conversion)

Looks pretty darned good to me. You took a chance that I'd be afraid to try and now have something unique!

    Completed My first bust...

I think it looks fine. The "chalky" look may actually make it look more realistic for the time. I doubt the shields weren't professionally painted.

    Completed Tirailleur Senegalese

Seeing the 3D printing taking over from hand sculpting, I wonder if some day the 3D print will include color. Then the fun will really be gone.

    Southern Pride - H&V Miniatures - 75mm - Completed

The red background evokes thoughts of a burning forest (The Wilderness?) or town in the background.

    Bases/Plinths For Busts?

I used to make my own, and now that I'm getting back to painting after 20 years away and finding it hard to find bases, I see why I ended up doing that. Most of the figures I have to work on need only 1.5" cubes and I prefer not having trim at the bottom. Amazon has listings for hardwood turning...

    What Figure is This?

Thanks for the responses! I like the charm of the small 54s and have never done a figure larger than that. I think these are 70mm and that doesn't seem to be that much bigger and since I've always admired Mike Blank's work, I thought I might give this a try.

    What Figure is This?

Does anyone know who might be the maker of this figure? I think it was titled "Danish Cuirassier - 1719".

Bavarian chevalier (Chevau-léger?) by Chronos Miniatures

Nice figure indeed. Lots on the web on this outfit. https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/463237511650413523/visual-search/?x=16&y=16&w=414&h=648.6425702811246&surfaceType=flashlight

    Completed Tim Strawn

I couldn't sleep last night trying to fight off the urge to add something to the figure at this late stage but when morning came I decided to go for it. Since there's not a lot of doodads in the sea of black clothing, I thought that the back especially needed more stuff going on. After...

    Completed My first bust...

That's a great figure choice to start your bust journey and your "sketched" face is fantastic. Looking forward to seeing the progress.

We are pleased to inform you that the Scale Modelling Manual Vol.10 - Greek Hoplite on Scratch Built

I'd be interested in this if only to see how the sea was created. I have a project I'd like to do that has rough sea as a major element. Does the book go into detail on the creation of the water?

Thanks. The video was indeed helpful.
