Thanks for the kind words Steve.

    Polish Legion Ulan

I imported the head from the file I purchased into zbrush for the alterations. My stl file is of the Uhlan that Nap has pictured on his posting.

    ACW Union (Federal) Cavalry Bugler

Thanks Nap. The cords, especially those wrapped around the upper part of the bugle were a source of frustration to make. I did make them over again and am still not 100% pleased with them. It's time to give them another try so breaking it down into parts is easier.

    ACW Union (Federal) Cavalry Bugler

I believe this is done. I have a few touch ups here and there and then just have to break it down into a few parts.

    Very nice sculpting.

    Polish Legion Ulan

Nap, Great job on the bust. I purchased and downloaded the stl file for the kit. While it was well done I thought the face was missing something so I went about "converting" the face with Zbrush.

    ACW Union (Federal) Cavalry Bugler

Here's a one pic update. I'm working on the folds and hair, which once finished will have me that much closer to completion.

    ACW Union (Federal) Cavalry Bugler

Thanks for the kind words Nap. I wanted to do a bust with a bit more emotion to it. I've always wanted to do a forage cap that has the visor tilted up. Such a detail is one that can be found in many ACW photographs.

    ACW Union (Federal) Cavalry Bugler

The current project on my PC. I thought to make this one a bit more lighthearted and expressive verses a more neutral one. There's still lots to be done and the last photograph shows what the final position of the head will be once finished.

    Confederate Soldier bust

Here is another bust recently completed in Zbrush. It's a Confederate soldier depicting a mid to late war soldier.

Steve, Thank you, I appreciate it.

    Scrooge bust revision

Kevin, like you there have been others that have expressed an interest in Scrooge. At the very least the bust will more than likely printed in a small edition. As I work fulltime my free time is limited there's absolutely no desire to start a business producing miniatures. As of now there is no...

    Absolutely stunning. So well done.

    Scrooge bust revision

A year or so after sculpting version number one I decided to give Scrooge a makeover. I've been sculpting with Zbrush for about three years. After gaining more experience with the software I thought to spruce him up a bit to see what could be improved on. He's got a new wardrobe in addition to...

There are great pieces in their product line, and it'll be nice to see them made available to painters here in the states.

    Confederate Mini Bust in Zbrush

Here's the start of a small project in Zbrush. I'm still blocking in things, so it'll be a bit before he's done. I'm also painting new things so there's going to be a bit of back and forth for a while. Continue reading...

    I'm back...finally

It's almost, no it is, embarrassing seeing how much time has passed since I last posted anything. It might not be because I have not finished anything since then. I have sculpted newer work; it just never made it to this blog. I've also since painted a few things which for me is a rarity. This...
