Tribute Display at Chicago Show to BILL OTTINGER

What a joy and privilege it must've been to see those gems in the flesh. Some of my all-time favourite figures there. Bill's book has been a fixture on my shelf for years, and has been my companion. My thoughts and condolences to Bill's loved ones.

    Brush Priming? Thoughts?

99% of my priming is a thin coat of Halfords (Pep Boys in the US) matt white. I am 100% convinced that this is the exact same stuff as Games Workshop Chaos White primer - and a fraction of the price. To avoid over spray it's a case of horses for courses. I use masking tape, or very...

Shelf of shame, or the path to glory?

Following on from a recent thread, the conversation went in a direction that I feel may warrant it's own thread. How do we progress our figures? I'd say I do about 75% to their conclusion, from beginning to end. A further 20% run out of steam and I end up finishing them off later. Sometimes...

    What's next?

Dear Ver, go for it. I know how intimidating it can feel. Especially if you don't feel confident enough to do something to a higher standard than you think you can get to. If you don't try...take it in bite size chunks - you never know. I have figures in my stash myself that are in the "I'll...

    What's next?

...and I thought that was just me!

    What's next?

I'm often torn at which bit is my favourite part of a big project with multiple figures. I love the planning stage; working out who goes where and in what order I'm going to do things. Colours, palettes and references, etc. Either that or the final bit before I declare, "Right, that's it - done."
