Been a member for years, but due to life events, it's been a while since I last posted. Finally put paint to some figures earlier this year after a long break. Not the best pics but it feels good to be painting again. Hope to share more soon. :)

Hello,
Well, after much working and reworking, Lincoln is just about done. Just some fine tuning and clean-up left. Thank you very much for your input and critiques. They were very helpful.
Thanks for the replies! I will work on the hair/beard more. I'll probably end up scraping it off and redoing it. I'm not happy with it either. Boy, Gary trying to match Andy's work at my level of ability is going to be VERY challenging to say the least, but I'll give it a go. Thanks again for...

Thanks for the replies. I will certainly put more detail into the hair/beard, this is only roughed in right now. Sambaman, I'll take another look at the eyes as well, they do look a little of in the photos.
Thanks again for the feedback!

Hello,
Here's a Lincoln bust I've been working on. It's done in SS. The face is SS + SS Gray Firm. He's 1/3 scale. Comments/crits welcome. Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys. I think Calvin's technique is very good for simulating bronze. It's a great way to paint pieces this big (1/6 scale) and use them for statue decor around the house.
Markus, Marcellin and Quang - Thank you for your comments. I really appreciate the feedback.
I sculpted this in about 3 sessions (about 2 hours each). A very quick sketch - my dad's birthday is fast approaching (May 4th) and I really wanted to get this sculpted, painted and mailed before then...
