    Chindit bust (Mitches Conversion)

Starting life as Mitches Sgt Elias bust, I'm slowly but surely turning it into a British Chindit (I wanted a truly unkempt character). The hat needs a bit of tweaking but its taking shape

    Verlinden 120mm Gulf War conversion

Here's another figure Im working on. Ive used one of the brilliant Reedees heads and added some spare hands. The arms are A&B putty. I'll be doing this chap in the older 6 colour desert camo (chocolate chip). The right forearm needs a little work before I get to painting.

    Painting cold flesh

Its a matter of adding paler almost blue tones to some areas and redder tones to the ears, end of nose etc. Im sure someone can give you a better answer but that's the basic idea.

    Mitches WW2 Para Bust

Done the webbing texture on the belt and removed the little block on the chin strap. Done a bit on the texture for the webbing straps but lots more to do.

    Mitches WW2 Para Bust

I almost always apply matt varnish to uniforms. I cant seem to control the sheen levels of acrylic paint. The eyes are just high gloss without white dots.

    Mitches WW2 Para Bust

Cheers mate. Its always great to get feedback. I always find denison (and to a lesser extent dpm) to be relatively easy to paint at least compared to German patterns. I treat it like watercolours and let the brush create the strokes as they would have done with the real thing.

    Mitches WW2 Para Bust

Getting there. Face is almost done. Denison almost done. Webbing and helmet are the main tasks left though there's still a load of little bits to do.
