Hello,
Although the technology is neat, I have to say I don't really like it. Sure companies will love it, as once someone is proficient with the program they can knock out sculpts and interlay/modify parts that have been saved from other sculpts with great efficiency. But to be honest, to...
Hello,
Not sure how it is in the UK, but I went to a few trophy shops and ended up getting decent looking plastic bases real cheap, $1.50 each. (never hurts to ask around, as most retailers have different prices/inventory)
Take care,
Joe
Hello,
Not sure if this was an production piece, but anyhow whom would know better then the fine folks of PF. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Joe
Hello,
Looking forward to following your progress, I have the same mini on the go right now (I am only using browns, greys, and dark greens/red as I get a really dark evil feel from the sculpt)
Like very much the base you have made for it. (not sure what I will do with mine but I may...
Hello,
Thanks for the input Mark, I will take a closer look at the points you made. As for it looking more fantasy then Hoplite, hehe that is probably because I enjoy fantasy much more then history. (I like to think of it as "historical-fantasy" or "fantastical-history") Either way though its...
Hello,
Gordy, thanks for the tips and comment, will try to take some better pic's of my next bust. (may try out doors thanks for the idea) I did have wax paper over the lights I used, but as you said there still is glare. (Need to slap myself more often for being lazy, and not fixing it...
Hello,
My first attempt at posting/taking pictures. Hope it works, if it does let me know what you think. (the good, the bad, and the ugly):
Take care,
Joe
Hello,
I like you two new busts but am not sure of the scale they look to be huge are they 1:1? Great painting though the skin tones and shading are perfect.... hehe
Just kidding, all the best and I look forward to seeing your new creations.
Take care,
Joe
Nice
Hello,
I just have to say that the painting on the crusader is fantastic, I just love the style. (makes me want one and not want one all at the same time, as replication to that standard will probably kill me) hehe
Take care,
Joe
"It is about CHOICE, the artist, the company have a choice which way to license or sculpt. This is a commercial related topic "
Does an artist or company not have the choice now? If they are approached that is. (what is the difference in re-casting an entire figure or just a gun, sword, hand...
Re: Copyright, ethics, parts re-use and a proposal?
Hello,
Well the way I see it is if you are truly an artist and have pride, you would just sculpt your own parts.
If you are just out for a quick build/buck and do not care all that much about what "you" have created, just hack up...
Now thats what I call a paint job! Love the popping style. (you just reminded me why I liked to paint space marines, soo much curved metal to work colours)
Great job on this one!
Take care,
Joe
Hello,
One place I have bought many kits from with no problems, that has a decent selection of larger scale fantasy/sci-fi/horror is monsters in motion. (monstersinmotion.com) They do carry a lot of "ready to display" stuff but also have a decent amount of "do it yourself" kits, you may...
